This is my '88 Civic RT4WD wagon which I bought in June of 2006. At the time I owned a fairly stock, but P8R B20-powered, DA Integra. I'd been wanting a 4WD wagon for a couple years before that, when one day I spotted one on craigslist. It had a blown head gasket and was only $500, but at the time I was pretty much broke. Determined to make this wagon mine, I made a few phone calls and within 2 hours had sold my Integra for $700.
The next day, I drove over to where the wagon was parked. It turns out it was owned by a musician who drove it to LA from Maine, and therefore had a bit of rust. Either way, it was love at first sight. I happily paid the guy $500 and drove it home.
For being an East Coast car, it was very solid. Solid...but dorky-looking. So one of the first things I did was lower it with a set of junkyard Skunk2 coilover sleeves and Tokico blues. Around the same time, I had the opportunity to buy a set of Japanese tail and corner lights (back when they weren't as common). I also threw on a set of 90-91 CRX Si alloys I had laying around.
Once it was looking good, I dropped in a replacement SOHC ZC I got from HMotorsOnline ($395 back then!).
Since then it's been through a bunch of phases. It's had big wheels, small wheels, no tint, tint, then no tint again. It was even turbocharged for a while.
At last count, I think it had been through 5 engines and 3 transmissions. Currently, it sits in my driveway as a shell. The plan is to drop in a B20B with a CR-V 5-speed RT4WD transmission and rear differential. Hoping to get that done in the next year or so. When that happens I'll make sure to document it and post the proceess here.
